Craig McMartin traveled to Symons Plains in Tasmania for the fifth round of the YMF Loans Australian Superbike Championship and it was business as usual for the 5 times champion. Craig continued his dominance of the Pro-Twins Australian Championship after qualifying in pole position, taking 3 wins from 3 starts and setting a new lap record along the way.

Riding the Carbonize sponsored Gibson Freight Ducati 749R, Craig started the weekend by setting a pole time of 57.6 sec, 1.2 sec ahead of his nearest rival, former 500cc GP competitor, Mark Willis (BMW 1200). McMartin followed this up by going onto win the first race of the weekend on Saterday afternoon by more than 3.5 seconds from second placed Paul Roe (Aprilia RSVR 1000).

Race 2 of the weekend got off to a close start with the Ducati 749R of McMartin and the BMW 1200 of Willis almost coming together in turn 1. With a significant capacity advantage, both Willis & Roe were able to push McMartin throughout both races on Sunday however, McMartin was able to claim the trifecta for the weekend.
Craig now holds a 68 point lead in the championship over his nearest rival, Paul Roe with 2 rounds remaining.

Craig's next outing on the Carbonize sponsored Gibson Freight Ducati 749R will be at Winton Raceway, Victoria, 20-22 Oct.
