Round 1 - Eastern Creek

Pro Twins

Riding the smaller capacity Ducati 749R in this years championship, Craig McMartin got his championship defense off to a good start with a pole position and a hard fought win in the first race of the weekend.

McMartin, riding a relatively standard Ducati 749R, had to settle for second place in the remaining 2 races of the weekend. Roland Kruck, riding McMartins championship wining Ducati 999S from the 2005 series, narrowly won the final 2 outings of the weekend. With a performance deficit over his rivals, McMartin was able to use experience and superior riding ability to good effect with only 0.76sec separating McMartin and Kruck in the final outing.

Running the smaller 749R in Supersport trim gives a bit of capacity away to the others, but Im sure well pick up a few more wins along the way.

McMartins next outing is at Barbagallo in WA, 26-28 May.
