Pro Twins

In his quest for an unprecedented 6th straight Pro Twins championship, Craig McMartin (Ducati 749R), had a difficult weekend at the 3rd round of the Pro Twins Australian Championship held over the weekend of June 2-4 at South Australia's Mallala circuit.

With minimum preparation time leading up to the tuff leg of the series, where teams travel to Western Australia then South Australia over consecutive weekends, McMartin was again unable to find the right setting for the rough Mallala circuit. After qualifying in second position behind the Ducati 749R of Mick Kelly, McMartin was relegated to a close second position in the three races of the weekend. Ducati 749R mounted Mick Kelly had the perfect set up for the weekend and took 3 wins from 3 starts, having to fight for the win with McMartin pushing Kelly to the limit in the three races with as little as 0.183sec separating the pair at the line. Paul Roe (Aprilia RSVR 1000 Factory) two thirds while James Van Rooyen (Aprilia RSVR 1000 Factory) took 3rd in the first race.

With consistency the key to championship wins, McMartin now leads the Australian Pro Twins Championship on 192 points from Paul Roe on 162 and James Van Rooyen on 137.

Craigs next outing on the Carbonize sponsored Ducati 749R will be at the fast Queensland Raceway, July 7-9.
